In this article we discuss Facebook video streaming for groups and events! 1.5 Billion users, 27 million in Italy.
Facebook, the Social Network evolving more and more over time, enriching itself with interesting new features
Facebook is becoming more and more Live. Just in the last few days it has announced a number of new features for its Facebook Live streaming service.
Facebook video streaming for everyone!
Facebook Live was first launched last summer for public figures and recently made available for all Ios and Android users.
Until now if we wanted to do live streaming using free services the ideal tool has always been YouTube, this has recently been joined by Twitter, and now it’s time to Facebook… with Facebook Live, video streaming for everyone!
The giant Facebook, after testing the live streaming feature on a few small circles of users, has announced its intentions to extend the service to all users.
The social network has, in fact, announced that the Live Streaming service on Android devices will be made available starting next week but only for users living in America.
The Facebook livestreams service has already been active for some time, in fact, on all iOS terminals, and after a period of experimentation it has, for the past few weeks, been accessible in more than 30 countries, including Italy, with the aim of expanding this video platform further.
An ad hoc icon has been designed for this function, and it will be possible to send your friends a preview of what you are about to broadcast in advance.
Facebook in-stream videos have in previous months been the focus of the social network, which aims with this type of content to capture a very large slice of users given the global number of people who use Facebook on a monthly scale, bringing more real-time content into the News Feed.
With Facebook Live, Fans and Followers can initiate Live sessions that can be followed live by all members of the Social Network.
Live, unlike other similar services, will then be saved for later review. Footage that can also be removed.
Viewers who attend the live broadcast can, also, subscribe to the channel to receive notifications whenever a new broadcast begins.
Facebook, therefore, wants to become more and more of a player in the media content sector as well by offering its members a platform that not only allows them to view videos but also allows them to create new ones through live streaming solutions.
The big news is that, soon, users will be able to broadcast videos and thus share their live streams not only on their wall but also within Groups and Events.
In this way it is possible to show what is going on around us, only to those we want (for example, only to a small circle of people who could be: exclusive invitees to an event or participants of a group of our interest).
Facebook Video Streaming for Groups and Events, more and more interaction and engagement
Facebook Groups and Events are definitely two great communication tools that help to increase theEngagement among users.
We recommend that you learn more about this topic by reading this article : “Creating Engagement in Social Networks: what does it mean?”
As in real everyday life, in fact, groups are created to unite and connect people who share common interests and passions, with the purpose of cooperating, planning, analyzing, competing, and making decisions as a group.
Participating in a Facebook group also makes it possible, in particular, to satisfy the need for information that we all feel, some in one area, some in another.
But not only that…the Facebook group can also be leveraged as a great tool for Marketing and Communication to give visibility to one’s Brand or, for example, to communicate all useful information related to Products, Services, Useful Info related to one’s Company.
To further increase the visibility of your Brand, if your business allows it, it may be particularly beneficial to also create a corporate Facebookevent in which your fans can participate.
This will give you the opportunity to strengthen your relationship with your Community, but also to reach some new Fans (Leads) interested in your business.
What is the added value brought by the new Facebook video stream feature?
With the new Facebook Live update it will also be possible to broadcast Live Video within theEvent itself or the Group created to reach, for example, all the “friends” who could not attend the “broadcast.”
Or you can schedule a session and broadcast it live so that all guests can participate remotely.
The level of Engagement and thus interaction will be provided by the possibility for users to not only watch but also to comment live and, thus, be able to ask specific questions and requests related to clarifications, insights, and useful tips…
In the text string of the Live Streaming will then appear comments left by users to which it will be possible to respond “live.”
What are the professional applications of Facebook Live?
Potentially many. From live coverage of an Event to a corporate presentation or, again, to a training and/or e-learning session, with perhaps interesting question-and-answer sessions.
To be sure, there are much more sophisticated and professional tools that allow you to conduct a meeting in real time, but Facebook has two unbeatable advantages: its popularity (everyone is on Facebook and there is no need for apps or additional tools) and its ease of use (everyone knows how to use Facebook).
In 2013, our Ideas and Solutions division proposed for the first time the realization of an Event according to the Live Streaming formula.
This ensured that the meeting was broadcast on the Company’s website, Facebook Page (through the inclusion of an HTML page), YouTube Channel and Google Plus.
Surely it would have been much easier if we could have used this new Facebook feature.
Thanks to the live streaming on Facebook, the “traditional” event is enriched, taking advantage of the interactivity of the Web with the consequent possibility offered to users to chat and share the same “broadcast” in real time, intensifying even more the interaction with the relevant Company.
